After attending the University of Chicago Booth School of Business panel on women working in the investment world, I was so inspired by a couple of the questions guests brought up so I thought I’d share the answers that came up, including my own. Check them out below.
The first was: looking back on your career, what would you have done differently? The panelist shared that she would have started her career sooner. I would say that I started my dream career right on time…but I wish I was bolder in my actions along the way. In any case, don’t be afraid to go for what you want; if you want it, you can have it by making strides now!
The second question was: what advice would you give to women today? One answer a panelist provided that I loved was to remember that you’ll have different priorities throughout your life, so don’t get discouraged if you can’t have it all at one time. Develop a 3-5 year plan for yourself, that way you can see the light at the end of the tunnel and not get bogged down by little hiccups on the way there.
