How the unexpected chapters of our lives can prepare us for moments we can’t yet see.
I did a thing I’ve been preparing for for decades—even though I didn’t know it at the time.
I filmed my first TV segment. 🎥
I can’t share the topic quite yet, but walking onto the set brought me back to my years working in advertising.
For a sneak peek at how it all came together, check out this brief video.
People sometimes ask whether I wish I had gone into coaching sooner.
Honestly? No.
The Path Only Makes Sense Looking Backward
My advertising career helped prepare me for this moment. I understood the energy of a set, the importance of preparation, the wardrobe conversations, the collaboration behind the scenes—and, most importantly, that the connection and trust among the people in the room ultimately show up on camera.
Then, nearly two decades of coaching prepared me to step in front of that camera and share something I deeply believe can help people.
It was a beautiful reminder that nothing in our journey is wasted.
The experiences that may seem unrelated—or even like detours at the time—can be developing the confidence, perspective, skills, and relationships we will need for a moment we cannot yet see.
Sometimes the path only makes sense when we look backward.
I’m especially grateful to the people who helped me feel prepared and supported — from strategic guidance to camera readiness to content preparation to the example my brother set years ago when he showed me how confidence, expertise, and playfulness can come together on television.
